The App Store is no-longer a hobby for Apple.

$1 million a day in applications for a total of $30 million in sales over the first month.
In a recent interview with Steve Jobs himself, The Wall Street Journal reports 60 million applications have been delivered to iPhone and iPod touch users, within the first month.
I recently equated the App Store’s total worth, as a business for Apple, and it’s on track to hit that target.
Another interesting tidbit, is Jobs confirmed that Apple indeed had the ability and back-end technology to remote disable an application from an iPhone or iPod touch running the 2.0 firmware. Of course he stated;
“Hopefully we never have to pull that lever, but we would be irresponsible not to have a lever like that to pull.”
Other numbers to take note of are that of Sega’s Super Monkey Ball, and Epocates medical suite. Within the first 20 days, Sega had sold over 300,000 copies of Super monkey Ball ($9.99). This made Sega $2 million in net revenue. Similarly, Eporcates saw users download 125,000 copies of it’s medical suite for iPhone.
Also noted was the recent pulling of ‘I Am Rich’. Apple described the action of removing the application from the App Store as a “judgement call”.
