ALERTWE’VE MOVED TO RAZORIANFLY.COM

[Update - 26.08.08]

Thank you to everyone who contacted me.
You can now see the concept UI of RazorianFly Mobile: HERE

Original Article:
I am looking for a highly-talented iPhone developer to develop and design a simple iPhone application directed at grabbing content from this blog. This new application will be coined ‘RazorianFly Mobile’. The idea being, the app will provide an easy, and clean, interface to read Razorianfly, while mobile, and will be available to everyone, worldwide, through Apple’s App Store. The application will be set out in a list form, and would update over Wifi, Edge and 3G. I imagine it would be easy to develop, but unfortunately I’m lacking C+ programming experience. Currently, I’m thinking of going with the same sort of user interface that WordPress for iPhone [App Store] offers – without the editing abilities.

Pricepoint: Free – £0.59 (TBC)

Any profit(s) would be shared 50-50.

I currently have a free developers account over at developer.apple.com and have access to the latest iPhone SDK and it’s resources. If the dev I choose is serious about this, I will be willing to pay for a developers license, to get apps onto the store. It wouldn’t just stop at RazorianFly mobile …

If your interested in developing, and submitting, this application to the App Store, with me, please reply to me immediately at razorianfly@gmail.com.

App Store: Lite Applications, Finally Hit!

They. are. here.

They. are. here.

ALERTWE’VE MOVED TO RAZORIANFLY.COM

If there was one thing missing from the App Store on it’s debut, it was the ability to ‘try-before-you-buy’. Previously, applications were being bought on risk, and trust of the developer and their, sometimes debatable, description of features. That is all about to change.

Developers like Igloo Games, makers of Dizzy Bee (usually sold for £1.79), are now starting to debut ‘Free’ or lower-priced versions of their paid application(s) for the try-before-you-buy audience!

The Free version of DizzyBee can be found: Here

DizzyBee by Igloo Games, is just one example, there are a few dozen titles and developers now trying to entice customers into buying their products by offering stripped out versions, for a fraction of the cost.

Other examples include:

- Labyrinth Lite Edition (Usually sells for £3.99)
- iDoodle 2 Lite (Usually sells for £1.79)
- Cubes Lite (Usually sells for £0.59)

But there are plenty more. All you need to do is type the search term ‘Lite’ or ‘Free’ into iTunes, and see for yourself of how many developers are actually adopting or contemplating adoption of this business strategy.

This is great for us and developers, as buyers now, as with iTunes music, we can now ‘preview’ applications – and the developers, well, they make awesome applications, create lite versions, and ultimately sell more copies of their original applications, through the user-experience we get through the lite version - Gawd, I need a lie down in a dark room after typing that.

Kudos to Apple for letting the developers submit multiple versions of their application for distribution through the store, and thanks to all the developers out there who are adopting these methods! – You ROCK – And hey, at the end of the day – It makes perfect business sense. Right? ;)
